Service Highlights & Timings

  • Crossing Time: Usually takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. The Pacific Ocean can be unpredictable, so times may vary slightly.
  • Standard Schedules: Ferries typically depart at 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. We suggest being at the pier at least 40 minutes early.
  • Vessel Type: These are fast, open-sea speedboats equipped with safety gear and experienced captains.

How to Navigate the Boarding Process

Puerto Ayora’s main pier (Muelle de Pasajeros) is the busiest in the islands. Our local tip: Keep your boarding pass handy and look for our representative or the boat’s name on the luggage tags to avoid confusion during the morning rush.

Essential Logistics to Remember:

  1. Luggage Control: Before entering the dock, you must pass the ABG biosecurity inspection. They will zip-tie your bags to ensure no prohibited items are moved to San Cristobal.
  2. The Water Taxi (Taxibote): In Santa Cruz, you’ll pay $1.00 USD to the water taxi driver to reach the speedboat. Please have small change ready!
  3. Arrival in San Cristobal: You’ll arrive right in the heart of town, just a short walk from most hotels and the famous sea lion colonies.

Why Planning Ahead Matters

Since these boats only hold around 25 passengers, seats vanish quickly during the peak travel season. Reserving your tickets online not only guarantees your spot but also saves you the stress of hunting for a last-minute seat at the docks.
